Marie Delaney
Director
Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration
Suite 7200
941 N. Capitol St. NE
Washington, DC 2002
Dear Ms. Delaney:
On April 2, at its monthly meeting, ANC3D, with a
quorum present at all times, voted 5-1 to recommend approval of a
“stipulated” – or temporary – license to Bambu Restaurant at 5101 MacArthur
Boulevard NW to serve beer and wine on a temporary basis until a permanent
license can be considered.
In so voting, the ANC would like to emphasize that it
is not endorsing a permanent license, that it has certain conditions it
would like met before it would recommend approval of a permanent license,
and that it has serious reservations about a “stipulated license” procedure
that does not permit an ANC to give due public notice before acting.
ANC3D requests, therefore, that before a permanent
license is considered, your administration, in accordance with section 1.309
of the District Code, give at least 30 days advance notice to our ANC so
that the commission will have time to give public notice that consideration
of a permanent license is on the commission’s agenda for a monthly meeting.
Sincerely yours,
John W. Finney
Chair, ANC3D |
